How are y’all doing? I hope you’re feeling well because it’s just the start of the year! We’re glad to leave 2016 behind and move on to 2017. (Not that it treated me or you badly, but it f**ed up society as a whole.) It’s only the first week of January, yet I’m already tired. I blame myself though, since I slept for only 5 hours on some nights. Can you blame me, though? Two Sundays passed since I left Japan!
Two weeks in, but I still have (the good kind of) fever. I can still hear the female voiceover in the train stations announcing where the doors open. Hidari for left, migi for right. Then I still remember that woman at the Daikoku Drug Store where I bought most of my makeup at. And I can’t forget every bowl of ramen I took in the entire country!
I know y’all are waiting for the main course. But here’s the starters. All photos are from my Instagram. (If you’re not following me yet–why though?!–it’s @aicstheticist.)
Of course it ain’t an Instagram without the selfies. I took like, 283 of them, but only two made the light of day. You’ll see more of them later on, though.
This was before we departed Manila. Even my mascara’s excited: Can’t you see how it ran from my eyes?
Our hotel in Tokyo had one window that gave way to amazing selfie lighting. It was our last day in Japan too, so might as well take one.
Taking photos of terminals is part of the waiting game. I should’ve brought a book along with me, TBH. Let’s not forget how the retrograde can drain battery quicker than usual… But I didn’t regret taking all these.
Just so you know how that went:
Update: walked with bare legs in my first winter ever and I feel like a natural 💁🏻https://t.co/q2qhbWJzQy

One thing I regret during this trip is my train photos. Not that they’re ugly, but I spent 90% of Day 1 or 2 mostly taking ninja shots of people on the train… Nothing really special. Yet we all know Japan is more than their fabulous railway system.
Sightseeing: The City
Japan’s urban scene is colorful and sleek. Since I’m a city girl, I don’t find anything new with concrete jungles. But Japan? They step up a whole new game with their cities.
And sadly they’re not a part of my diet at all 🙁
Where my Hogwarts letter at?
This hotel though, I’m in love!
Happy 2017! I realized how hard it was to constantly update my social media while traveling and living in the moment, taking in the Tokyo winter air. But I’ll be blogging about these soon, and you’ll be seeing more photos from my trip! I’m sorry for the lack of constant updates, but I’ll keep them coming as soon as I drop fire. Until then, #IrasshAICAse!
Cultural heritage is vital to a country’s survival in the modern age. Most of the pics from here were taken in Kyoto.
Typical Tourist Shots
And of course, non-selfies.
A tale of
two three sisters.
I’m not really into fashion as much as the true-blue fashion bloggers are. But I wanna look my best when I’m in another country because it’s for me and my photos
and the hafus I might attract. I only uploaded 3 OOTD’s, because I got too lazy to update LOL.
(Side note: I’m so happy a cute hafu noticed me while I looked like this like yas!)
We were very lucky to see Mt. Fuji in its glory! I don’t care if I took this with just my phone ‘coz I was happy to see it from the shinkansen! I anticipated that the weather won’t cooperate, but at least I saw this somehow. I’ve never seen anything as perfect as this volcano.
That’s about it for now. Stay tuned for the main course 🙂
